Drupal Web Design and Development

Vaccine Media have over 15 years of experience in the field of website design and development in Manchester and have designed and developed a wide range of websites for various market sectors including small personal blogs to SMEs and large corporate organisations.

We understand that for many people and organisations, the company website is the first impression in order to make or break a potential lead or sale to prospective customers who may have simply landed on the website from a Google search engine result. So effective communications is key. This ranges from engaging landing page content through to a streamlined and efficient user experience and customer journey in order to aid the end user to making a decision whether that is ordering a product or service or simply getting in contact with you for further information or to sign up to an email marketing list for future updates.

We primarily use the Drupal Content Management System (CMS) to build websites which empower their owners to be able to update the content of their website using nothing but the browser on their desktop computers.

Drupal is not strictly a CMS, however, rather than what is known as a Content Management Framework (CMF) which in laymen's terms means that every website we build is built bespoke to your exact requirements from the way in which you add / edit content, to how you manage users, products, images, video content etc… We always make sure to give you the maximum flexibility to empower what you can achieve using simply the browser in which you use to view the website content.

Website design and development can be broken down into several sub services of which we have many years of experience delivering cost effective solutions. Here’s a few of them highlighted but is by all means not limited to the entirety of our expertise:

Responsive Website Design and device agnostic / mobile-first front end development

A major fact to realise here is that more and more people are using mobile phones, tablets and other such devices (smart TVs for example) as a means of browsing the web. This has meant that website design now has to include these devices as a consideration and adapt to the various devices in order to give the end user the best customer experience either if they are simply looking for a new service provider or shopping for a particular product.

Our skilled Manchester website design team understand these requirements and supply designs to our developers which will be responsive and give the end user the greatest website browsing experience on the majority of devices used to browse the web. In fact, mobile browsing is finally overtaking desktop browsing as the most popular method for viewing websites.

We don’t forget the lowest common denominator!

We don’t forget about older browsers here though such as older versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) and strive to give those users the same user experience as those browsing using modern browsers such as Apple’s Safari or Google Chrome. We understand that serious government bodies such as banks or research institutions are unable to allow their staff to use browsers other than older versions of IE and as such give them careful consideration.

If this is of a major concern to you however, if you have Google analytics installed on your current website and are approaching us to re-develop your website (either to update your content management system or to become mobile-friendly) we can tell you exactly what percentage of your user base uses the older versions of Internet Explorer and use this as a basis onto how much effort will be placed on maintaining backwards compatibility with these older, less standards compliment browsers.
